Technical Services Manager Job (Oil Industry)

Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of an oil company founded in the United States in the 1960s. Our client is expanding its workforce in Indonesia to support growing local industry prospects and market demands. Our respected client is seeking a technical services management professional for the job of Technical Services Manager, to be based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The winning candidate, who will be reporting to the CEO will be involved in inspection testing, quality assurance (QA) and technical services. The successful applicant will also have broad oversight for customer management, product formulations and quality systems, technical service and OEM sales.
Key job responsibilities include:

  • Keep quality check on plant by visiting the plant regularly and testing samples taken at regular intervals
  • Reduce quality related problems
  • Keep track of the batch number tested at the plant during the plant visit
  • Advice and help distributors to select the proper lubricants for their application and ensure proper 
  •    utilization of the products
  • Make product presentations to the prospective customers
  • Handle all customer complaints within a specified time and give proper feed back to customer and report 
  •    to the CEO
  • Ensure all formulations are up to date as per the company’s Global product portfolio and Global 
  •    formulations
  • Improve and update present quality systems as and when required
  • Review company’s product portfolio and suggest introduction of new products based on market
  •     feedback from customers and sales team
  • Liaise with MIGAS as and when required
  • Prepare training modules and provide technical training to the sales and marketing staff
  • Organize seminars/trainings for industrial customers
  • Give feedback to marketing department about new products, applications and market segmentation. 
  •     Prepare application reports as and when required
  • Make competitor product mapping and bench marking
  • Develop CVP’s and USP’s for the company’s products
  • Help in preparing product catalogs
  • Provide information on lubricant market trends
  • Assist plant in choosing base oils and additives to control costs
  • Assist in sales to OEM wherever Gulf has OEM approvals
  • Develop new OEM’s as per company’s plan


  • Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in petrochemical, chemical or mechanical engineering
  • At least 10-15 years’ experience working in the technical services department of a lubricant company
  •    with at least 2-5 years in a managerial or supervisory position
  • Good knowledge of lubricating products and their applications in the automotive and industrial fields
  • Should be willing to travel extensively
  • Fluent English
