HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER - PT. VOLKOPI INDONESIA CAB. MEDAN

ED&F Man has an opportunity for an experienced and high calibre Human Resources Manager to join a world leading trader of agricultural commodities within our Coffee Trading Division - Volkopi. Working with the local General Manager and the regional HR team, this senior HR position offers a broad spectrum of opportunity and scope to partner the General Manager to build up the human resources to operate a state of art coffee mill in Medan, Indonesia.
The successful candidate will cover a full spectrum of HR activities ranging from manpower planning, recruitment & selection, compensation & benefits, learning & development to employee engagement.
We are looking for a leader who is able to partner the General Manager to drive the business forward. Ideally, you will have gained experience of operating within a fast paced multinational, entrepreneurial trading and/or commercial environment. The successful individual will develop a solid understanding of the coffee business and our global operations.

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partner General Manager to define and deliver strategic and tactical plans in Indonesia.
  • Lead manpower and recruitment planning and ensure smooth execution delivery.
  • Implement relevant HR policies / procedures that are also in alignment with legislative compliance and the Group’s minimum controls.
  • Conduct compensation market data research, analysis, benchmarking and advising on market pay trends and best practice.
  • Lead learning & development initiatives to ensure that development gaps are addressed.
  • Provide excellent support to managers on all aspects of Operational HR including: disciplinary, grievances, performance management and absence management.
  • Ensure smooth execution of all corporate HR processes covering key areas such as Staffing, Performance Management, Compensation Review and Talent Review.
  • Work with the Senior Management and the wider HR team to ensure alignment and collaboration.
IDEAL PERSON SPECIFICATION :
  • Minimum 6 years relevant HR generalist & partnering experience.
  • Working experience in a commodity processing environment preferred.
  • Start up and plant construction experience will be advantageous.
  • Sound knowledge of Indonesian employment law is essential.
  • Strong business acumen, focus on how HR drivers, business results and commercial understanding.
  • Ability to effectively manage issues with high ambiguity & complexity.
  • Good all round experience of HR systems, performance management and salary benchmarking, policies, legal requirements, programs & practices.
  • Good standard of PC literacy, comfortable with technology.
  • Strong Problem solving ability.
  • Strong Presentation Skills. 
  • Fluency in both Bahasa Indonesia and English
